CHIEF ADMINISTRATION CLERK (PATIENT ADMIN) 58 POSTS REF NO: SG05/02

SALARY : R170 799 per annum
CENTRE : SAMHS Headquarters (Directorate Patient Administration)

REQUIREMENTS : Grade 12 with finance related subjects Special requirements (skills needed):
Basic knowledge of the financial and accounting processes. Must be computer literate and have knowledge and experience of DOD financial management
mainframe computer systems as well as the Word Processing (MS word) and spread sheets (Excel) computer programs. Sound knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury
Regulations/instructions will serve as a strong recommendation. Prior knowledge of Medical Aid systems and processes is essential. Applicants must be familiar with the use of UPFS tariffs. Call Centre training and experience will be a recommendation. Ability to effectively liaise and communicate with clients.

Familiar with the process to register service providers on the DOD data base (National Codification Bureau). Familiar with the process of registration of service providers at the Board of Health Care Funders. Processing of personal and
banking details of service providers during registration of relevant departments in the DOD. Well developed verbal and written communication skills with good
interpersonal relations. Orientated towards teamwork and receptive to work
related suggestions/ideas. Permanent RSA citizen with no criminal record. No member with dual citizenship will be considered. The possession of a valid RSA vehicle drivers licence will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be required to complete all relevant courses. Must be able to work independently. Prepared to work long hours at a time not exceeding 40 hours per week.

DUTIES : Execute Call Centre duties on a day-night shift schedule. Receive, register, verify and couple medical and supplier invoices for payment similar to Medical Aid systems. Assist in compiling accounting reports/statistics. Strictly apply policy, prescripts and regulations. Detect and report all irregularities. Safekeeping of payment and other accounting documentation for audit purposes. Utilise the Financial Management System (FMS) to regularly record all accounting
transactions and do enquiries.
